Cornetto di Bordeaux is a French heirloom escarole (endive) with bright, frilly green leaves. Plant in early spring or late summer-- it will bolt in the mid-summer heat. Tender and tasty raw in salads or appetizers or cooked into soups, omelets, stir-fries and more.

Planting Instructions: Sow escarole seeds outdoors in early spring or late summer. Plant 1/2" deep, keep evenly moist until germinated. Enjoys light frosts, but protect for a hard freeze.

Seed Saving Instructions: In second year, allow most vigorous and tastiest plants to bolt & flower. Collect endive seeds when they easily crumble off plant. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
